Security Responsibilities of the DSC

  1. Make sure that your users understand the basics of computer security:  Security Best Practices For Faculty and staff
    Give them a copy of the Information Security Brochure. Share with them the information security video.
  2. Ensure that your users' computer is properly secured.
  3. Ensure that your servers are properly secured and follows UCF's security standards: Computer Security Standards.
  4. Scan your servers and networks or request them to be scanned by emailing sirt@mail.ucf.edu.
  5. Familiarize yourself with all UCF information security and privacy policies.
  6. Review the high level security incident response plan. Report all level 2 and level 3 security incidents to Information Security Response Team at sirt@mail.ucf.edu.
  7. Subscribe to the DSC security mailing list.
  8. Subscribe to your operating system vendor and application software vendors' security email list.
